Review: LOVE WANDER LUST

By T. Harrison
Brief Plot Summary: Joaquin is a young man living in New York City.  He wakes up one morning to find himself in bed with a woman he doesn't remember meeting.  It shocks him further when she divulges that they have slept together dozens of times.  He soon discovers that she is not the only woman he has been having sex with during these blackouts.  At first he believes these odd occurrences are the result of drinking binges, but an encounter with a beautiful woman named Noor shows him there is far more going on beneath the surface.

Joaquin has been haunted for years by the memory of his first love, a woman he was involved with as a teenager named Lisette.  He is certain his obsession with Lisette has created a darker, demon-like half to his personality, one that takes over during the times he can not remember.  With Noor's strength and support and the secrets revealed in his journals, Joaquin faces the demons of his past to prevent the one inside from destroying him.

My Thoughts:  LoveWanderLust is a twisted tale of obsessive, unhealthy love and the toll it can take on an individual's soul years later.  The book also shows us how experiencing the right love, pure and unconditional, can be the catalyst a person needs to redeem himself.  I like how the author presented the story in Joaquin's first person point of view.  It has been a very long time since reading a book written from a male character's first person POV, so this was a nice change of pace for me.  The story itself was gripping and somewhat unsettling as Joaquin's other half took over.  I was always wondering what would happen next.  The character development for Joaquin and Noor was good.  The author describes their painful pasts in a way that the reader can sense why fate has brought them together at this point in their lives.  My only complaint is that the story seemed to conclude abruptly with a new character added at the end.  The reader is left to come to his or her own conclusions about Joaquin.  I would recommend this book if you are a fan of darker erotic thrillers.  LoveWanderLust is also available on Kindle.

  2. So, is this kind of like the movie 50 First Dates, just with less smexin'? :) It definitely sounds interesting, which has totally piqued my curiosity. Especially being told from a males POV. Great review, Diana!
