Sexy Short Story Review: HIGHLAND VAMPIRE

By Suz deMello
Blurb:
On the run from her vindictive family, Natasha Desmond takes refuge at Kilburn Castle, reputed hunting grounds of a deadly vampire--and home to Garrett Kilburn, its sexy-as-sin owner. Though Garrett seems cold and remote at first, Natasha quickly learns that he's red hot in the bedroom. He seems to know all her secret desires and brings her ecstasy like she's never known before.  But at night, Natasha is visited by another mysterious lover. A lover who leaves two tiny wounds on her neck....
oOoOoOo

"I had fled as fast and as far as I could.  I could run no farther than to the edge of the world, here at the northwestern corner of Scotland."  And that was the perfect place to go.  Natasha is running from her ruthless family, in particular the evil step brother who is hot on her trail.  Fate leads her into the arms (and bed) of Garrett, the sexy and mysterious owner of Kilburn Castle on the Scottish coast.  But Garrett is not the only one pleasuring Natasha.  The vampire haunting Kilburn Castle pays her nightly visits, leaving only small bite marks on her neck as evidence he was there.  If Garrett knew about the vampire, then why would he allow her to stay in the castle alone?

I devoured this sizzling hot short story very quickly.  What did I love about it?  A seductive modern-day Highlander with his own castle. *swoon*  Plenty of sex with just a hint of kink. *swoon, again*  A touch of suspense and mystery.  And, of course, a vampire!  A paranormal element is always a bonus for me.  There were parts of the story that seemed far-fetched regarding why Natasha was hiding from her family, but the erotic scenes and a surprising twist at the end made up for it.  If you're looking for a satisfying quickie, Highland Vampire will not disappoint.
