Coming from nothing, Micah Ross now has more than he knows what to do with. His Hawaii BDSM club is flourishing, and he has his pick of women. Except one. Dee Sumners is cute, sexy, feisty…and, since she’s on his payroll, off-limits. Plus, she insists she isn’t into the life. Until one heated kiss hints that his head bartender secretly hungers to be his sub.
Life on the run doesn’t allow Dee to indulge in long-term relationships. Still, Micah manages to work his way through her tough armor and under her skin. Yet even as she succumbs to his skilled seduction, her survival instinct forms a plan to leave the island she has grown to love—and the man she’s in danger of loving.
When Dee disappears, Micah’s anger turns to fear when he realizes she didn’t leave willingly. Calling on his skills as a former bounty hunter, he tracks her to the mainland only to discover she is entangled in a web of lies and deceit that not only threatens their love, but her life.

When I found out that there is a Native American Dom who owns a BDSM club and the setting of this novel books takes place in Hawaii I was already hooked.
We are introduced to a teenaged, Marjorie Rizzoli in the prologue. She is being protected by the FBI because she is the sole witness in a murder investigation against her father and older brother. Unfortunately there is a mole within her protection detail and the seventeen year old has to run for her life after her safe house is shot up and she is the only that survives.
Ten years later we find Marjorie living in Hawaii and working as a bartender at a BDSM club called Rough ‘n Ready. Everyone there knows her as Dee Sumner. She has grown attached to the island paradise and does not look forward to moving on but knows that after 2 years of being on the island it’s time for her to find a new place and new identity if she wants to stay one step ahead of her murderous family. But she finds herself falling in love with her boss, Micah Ross. At first she tries to fight her attraction to him. She knows that romantic entanglements can only lead to trouble and her number one motto is “No Men”. Micah has made up his mind that he wants Dee’ s total submission in his bed despite her protests that she’s not into the BDSM lifestyle. Through his patience and perseverance Micah slowly starts to crumble Dee’s defenses and gain her trust. But Dee still can’t trust him completely enough to tell him the truth about her real identity.
By chance, an old FBI agent manages to track Dee down to the BDSM club and she takes off running again while the agent is questioning Micah about her whereabouts. Micah goes to Dee’s apartment to look for her and finds evidence that she has been kidnapped. Although upset that Dee has lied to him about her identity, his fears for her life sends him flying over to the mainland to find his newly initiated submissive lover and hopefully bring her back home where she belongs.
I liked how the author had the hint of suspense and danger within Micah’s and Dee’s story. Micah was aggressive towards Dee but also knew when to back off. Dee was a spirited, independent woman who really came into her own when she let down her guard and let Micah bring out her submissive nature. This novel will appeal to the readers who like suspenseful romantic stories with mild BDSM elements and a moderately aggressive alpha male hero with a feisty, determined heroine.
A Little Harmless Lie gets 3.5 out of 5 stars.
