SUNDAY POST is hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It's "a post to recap the past week on your blog, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up on our blog for the week ahead."
The August host of MAILBOX MONDAY is 5 Minutes for Books. It's "a gathering place for readers to share the books that came into their house last week and explore great book blogs. Warning: Mailbox Monday can lead to envy, toppling TBR piles and humongous wish lists."
oOoOoOo
I'm out of my reading slump! I read a couple of books last week and enjoyed the reading experience again. :)
A few other things...I signed up for BlogFest 2012 coming in September and Le Mysterieux Carnival coming in October. I posted only one review last week - Little Night by Luanne Rice.
I participated in "Booking Through Thursday" via Tumblr. This week's questions were about genres you a don't usually read and/or avoid. Check out my answer here: http://bookofsecrets.tumblr.com/post/29047863637/booking-through-thursday-branching-out
I also went on a big Kindle Freebie shopping spree, and came away with these 12 books:
A Vow to Keep by Lana Williams
Spring's Fury by Denise Domning
The Gentle Wind's Caress by Anne Brear
Song of the Fairy Queen by Valerie Douglas
A Knight's Reward by Catherine Kean
The Inconvenient Duchess by Christine Merrill
Spanish Serenade by Jennifer Blake
Fallen by Christina Skye
A Thousand Glass Flowers by Prue Batten
Love Will Find a Way by Barbara Freethy
Summer on the Mountain by Rosemarie Naramore
Only the Truth by Pat Brown
I received a couple of books for review:
A Lack of Temperance by Anna Loan-Wilsey
The White Forest by Adam McOmber (NetGalley)
Looking ahead this week:
In the past couple of months I've adopted a stress-free approach to blogging, and it's working well. I'm doing less, but enjoying it more! This means I have more time to blog hop and comment on others' posts, which I love. So, I only have one thing planned next week - a review as part of an author's blog tour. I'll also have a review for a cozy mystery I just finished. :)
My kids are starting school in a few days! I guess summer is winding down...

What a nice looking selection of books. I hope you enjoy them all. School starts for me two weeks from tomorrow although my students don't start until after Labor Day. Summer is winding down! I love your philosophy of blogging. If I could just quit saying yes when someone offers me a book to review, I would love to adopt it. Happy reading and thanks for visiting my blog.

Glad you're out of your reading slump! I've been finding it hard to read this summer, maybe it's the heat. The White Forest looks awesome. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteKindle freebies oh I hear you there and I've been in a reading slump for a while now I perked up a bit for a little while there but back in it again major downer. I'll get out of it I'm sure I just have a lot in my personal life going and that's keeping me from focusing. Le sigh
