My 2012 "Most Memorable" Shelf

Yay! I reached my reading goal for the year - 100 books. Overall, 2012 was an enjoyable year of reading. While looking back over the titles, I picked out a handful that were most memorable to me... *drumroll*

Favorite Book of 2012:
THE CHAPERONE by Laura Moriarty *

THE KINGDOM by Amanda Stevens
THE SHADOWY HORSES by Susanna Kearsley
VIRGIN RIVER by Robyn Carr *
THE REASON IS YOU by Sharla Lovelace
AFTER LIFE by Rhian Ellis *
PIES AND PREJUDICE  by Ellery Adams
THE HIDING PLACE by David Bell *
THE UNDERSTORY by Elizabeth Leiknes
BURIED IN A BOOK by Lucy Arlington
BENEATH THE SHADOWS by Sara Foster
THE RIVER WITCH by Kimberly Brock
SHELTER MOUNTAIN by Robyn Carr *

And there you have it! Just click on the book's title to check out my review. (No review for Shelter Mountain yet.)

Besides reading some fantastic fiction this year, I also discovered the joy of audiobooks and re-discovered my library card! :-) Books on my list above with an asterisk were checked out from the library.

Goals for 2013:
  • Read at least 72 books.
  • Read more books from my own TBR pile.
  • Complete the Historical Fiction and Witches & Witchcraft reading challenges.
  • Stay active in the book blogging community. (Blog hop & comment as much as possible!)
  • Keep book blogging a fun, low-stress hobby!
Happy Reading!

  3. Congrats on reaching your goal. I've read only Beneath the Shadows. The Chaperone looks like a good historical novel.

  6. Congrats on reaching your reading goal of 100 books! But why so much less for 2013?
From your list, the only one I read (and loved!) is the Ellery Adams book, Pies and Prejudice.

Good luck with next years solutions!

    1. I'll probably be going back to work full-time at some point next year, which means less reading/blogging for me. :-(

    1. Beneath the Shadows got mixed reviews, but there was something about it that struck a cord with me. I remember the very last scene gave me chills.

  12. Congrats on meeting your goal. I am falling short this year, but the positive side is that I have read some great books, a few being chunksters and have had a blast.
I loved The Chaperone, am wanting to read Pies and Prejudice so badly, that I may have to start it tonight (thanks for the recommendation), and I have yet to read a Robyn Carr book, so I will have to now. Maybe I will start one of hers tonight instead. Just finished a book and have been reading like mad today.

  13. The Chaperone was a great book. I listened to the audio of it this summer. Listening to The Kingdom right now and enjoying it greatly. Not sure if I like it more or less than The Restorer yet. I am looking forward to reading Shadowy Horses. It seems to be making lots of peoples lists this year.

  18. Congrats! I'm at 92 books.... I don't think I'll quite reach 100, but I'm well over my last year's total. I have to say that I've not read any of your most memorable books, but I'm glad you enjoyed!!
